VITAMINS

Occasionally, somebody will ask me to recommend the best multi vitamin for them to take. When this happens, I just have to sit there and smile. Recommending the "best" multi vitamin is kind of like trying to pick the best baseball player of all time. There certainly have been lots of great ones but picking out an absolute best is really just a matter of opinion. However, there are certain things you do want to look for in a multi vitamin when you do choose one. This article is going to point out some things you want to keep in mind when choosing a multi vitamin for yourself. Hopefully, after reading this, you should have a pretty good idea of what multi vitamin is just right for you.

Back in the early days of multi vitamins, at least as far back as I could remember, circa 1960, the multi vitamins that were commonly available, at least in my neck of the woods, were synthetic multi vitamins. In other words, not natural but made in a chemist's lab. If I remember correctly, Theragram was the biggest synthetic multi vitamin at the time. The thing you need to understand is that your best multi vitamin, or any vitamin for that matter, is an all natural one. So, if you are concerned with getting the "best" multi vitamin, then make sure you get one that is all natural.

There is one area where we have come a long way from the old days, and that's in the formulas of the multi vitamins themselves. Back in the good old days, each multi vitamin basically contained your maximum daily allowance for each vitamin. Over the years, we have come to realize that these maximum daily allowances were quite insufficient in many cases. So today, we have multi vitamins that cater to specifically. For example, there is one multi vitamin on the market today that caters to men who are over age 50. The reason is because men over age 50 are more prone to prostate problems and these multi vitamins contain extra lycoepne because it has been proven to improve prostate health.

There are also formulas specifically designed for woman over 50 who are more prone to problems like osteoporosis. These formulas usually contain extra vitamin D, which is excellent for fighting against this disease.

So, when you're looking for a multi vitamin, you need to look for two things. You want to find a natural multi vitamin, if possible, and you want to look for one that is formulated for your particular needs.
